The fifth article in our How to Host the Perfect Poker Home Game is a special one as Christopher Null of Drinkhacker.com fame has provided a fantastic selection of potential adult beverages to serve at your next poker game.

You’ve got the cards, chips, and table all set – now what? You can toss a case of Busch tallboys in an Igloo, or you can put a little thought into what you drink.

Take it from me: A bad beat goes down much easier if you chase it with a shot of high-grade Bourbon.
Here are three suggestions on what to serve your crew, depending on the stakes of your game.
When beer is on the menu, Busch or Bud will work well enough, but even the most casual of players are likely to appreciate a little extra thoughts. Check out Guinness Black Lager – a new brand from Guinness that is black as coffee but drinks like a traditional lager. $8.50 per six-pack.
One of the best values in the spirits world today is Bourbon and other U.S. whiskeys, and you can find an awful lot of great American whiskeys on the market without having to spend a whole lot of money. Try Evan Williams Single Barrel 2002 or Big Bottom Port Cask Finished Whiskey, both of which are available for $30 a bottle or less. Of course, if you’re ever worried the bottles will offend, you can always pour the whiskey into a crystal decanter and tell everyone it’s Pappy Van Winkle.
It’s not cheating to get your opponents stinking drunk before the game ever starts, and the best way to do that is by serving a delicious, high-end cocktail that goes down easy (but is manly enough to invite continued consumption). This original cocktail drinks like a martini but adds a touch of sweetness so your victims, er, guests, never know what hit them. You can make these bad boys a pitcher at a time (just multiply all proportions by 8) so you can have refills at the ready:
Drinkhacker’s Big Blind Cocktail
1 oz vodka
1 oz gin
¼ oz dry vermouth
¼ oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur
2 dashes orange bitters
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

If TellTale ever decides to release another one of their Poker Night games, they're going to need an interesting cast of characters to keep things interesting. I've put some thought into the various characters I'd like to see. For instance, I'd love to play poker against...
If ever there was a TV show that was prime for a TellTale game, it's Archer. The only thing that I would love more than playing cards against Sterling Archer would be playing as Sterling Archer in Archer: A TellTale Series.
Rick and Morty is another show that would make a fantastic TellTale game. Rick's dry, nihilistic humor would be a great contrast from the other characters.
This one's a slam dunk since TellTale already owns the rights to this character.
Another character that's already been in a TellTale game, Doc Brow is a goofy mad-scientist type character who I believe could really shine in a Poker Night game.
I would also like to see Loader Bot from Tales from the Borderlands as the dealer. His perfectly deadpan humor would be a great contrast from the other characters.
So that's my Poker Night 3 dream team. It will probably never happen, but I can still dream. What characters would you choose?
I feel like Bigby is a must, he just fit in super well.
I also love the idea of Loaderbot, but I dont know if Telltale would want to do a Borderlands character again.
Ah shit, you're right! Bigby would be great! Sub him in for Doc Brown, since he's already too similar to Rick.
So, for the record, that makes my new PNatI3 dream team:
Also, Dr. Krieger could work as a substitute for Sterling Archer if they don't want a lineup consisting of nothing but main characters.
I feel like Bigby is a must, he just fit in super well. I also love the idea of Loaderbot, but I dont know if Telltale would want to do a Borderlands character again.
Two characters I would like to see are Bigby and Deadpool. Lots of people bring up Rhys or Fiona, and I would agree they would be good fits, but I also think that would be a bit much as Claptrap was already in Poker Night 2. Otherwise, I'd be all for Fiona being one of the characters.
